‘HYPEBEAST Magazine’ Takes Over LA’s Art District for the Launch of Issue 34

Hosted in partnership with Departamento at the Signal Shops.

Events

HYPEBEAST Magazine recently celebrated the launch of its 34th issue, centered around the theme of Uniforms. From the paint-drenched garbs of Sterling Ruby to the effortless cool of Peggy Gou, our latest print publication explores how clothing represents more than just a style, but a way of expressing ideas about art, self-development, regionality and personal appearance.

Hosted in partnership with Departamento at the Signal Shops, audiences were treated to the first looks at the issue, while sipping on drinks by Heavensake, Jumo, Don Julio and Johnnie Walker, matcha cookies by Rocky’s Matcha and Jon & Vinny’s, as well as sounds by Alex James of Pleasures and Getoverher, and a special limited longsleeve tee made in collaboration between Hypebeast and cover star, Sterling Ruby. A number of current and past collaborators were in attendance, including Issue 34 feature artists, Awol Erizku and Sayre Gomez, along with Alfonso Gonzalez Jr., Tommy Bogo, Chito, Darren Vargas and Jahlil Nzinga.

Uniforms are a reflection of our personal and shared histories, as well as what we believe in and aspire to go. From fashion to design, music to art, additional highlights within the magazine include conversations with Frank Dorrey, Sandy Liang, Luar, Juntae Kim, Domenico Formichetti’s PDF and Shaboozey’s cowboy-inspired flair, along with SATISFY, Hellcat Eyewear, Rocky’s Matcha, Nori Rasmussen-Martinez and Jake Hunte in collaboration with William Spooner.

Hypebeast Magazine Issue #34: The Uniform Issue is available in two covers: Peggy Gou and Sterling Ruby. Grab your copy at HBX.
